Library Pass

Students are required to have a library pass.

Sign-in Sheets

All students are required to sign-in when they enter the Media Center and sign out if they leave before the end of the period.

Behavior in the Library

Time spent in the Media Center is to be constructive. A few basic rules should direct your behavior:

Show respect for people.
Show respect for Media Center materials.
Show respect for Media Center equipment.
Use the Internet educationally. Computer games, online shopping and access to non-academic websites are prohibited.
No radios allowed, including headset radios.
No food or drinks permitted.
Push in chairs when leaving tables.

Discipline and Proper Media Center Behavior

Anyone abusing his/her Media Center privileges will have those privileges suspended or revoked. In cases where the student’s behavior also violates school rules and the student has not responded to a warning, a disciplinary report will be written up and sent to the office, which usually results in a school detention.

Medical Excuses

Students who are assigned to the Media Center to replace their Physical Education period must have a Medical Excuse Project Form supplied by the school nurse through the Physical Education Department. This is to be a constructive period to replace your gym class.

Fire Drill Procedures

Students should exit the Media Center quickly and quietly through the main entrance by the circulation desk and follow the direction of their teacher or the librarian. The only exception would be students using Computer Lab 1 which has its own door students should use to exit. Students should push chairs in when leaving tables and leave their books, backpacks, etc. on the tables. All students must remain with their class and/or group outside and return to the Media Center after the drill.
