Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a serious offense. It is using another person’s ideas or expressions in your writing without acknowledging or giving credit to the author. Plagiarized papers are unacceptable and will result in a failing grade.

Forms of Plagiarism:

  1. Repeating someone else’s word exactly or too closely.
  2. Repeating someone else’s particularly appropriate phrase without giving the author credit.
  3. Paraphrasing another person’s argument or line of thinking and presenting it as your own.
  4. Including a Works Cited or Works Consulted page that does not match your citations.
