A letter will be sent home in the beginning of the year notifying you if a student in your child's class has an allergy and the allergen to avoid. Please look over the ingredient list in foods you provide to ensure you are avoiding that student's allergen (Ingredient lists typically have potential allergens in bold and will also have a claim statement on the packaging if they are made in a facility that also processes potential allergens).  Food allergies are serious and can be life-threatening, please help keep our students stay safe!

    PLEASE REMEMBER....

48 HOURS NOTICE IS REQUIRED IF FOOD IS BEING SENT IN FOR THE ENTIRE CLASSROOM AND NEEDS TO BE STORE BOUGHT, LABELED WITH A CLEAR INGREDIENT LIST!

ANY FOOD BEING SENT IN FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS NEEDS TO BE DROPPED OFF TO THE NURSE TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS WITH ALLERGIES!

To keep all our students safe, please use this link regarding Safe Snacks.  Unfortunately allergy information for foods/brands can change, so please refer to the following website. It has a downloadable list of safe snacks (although the list is kept up to date, please always read the label before purchasing a product because manufacturers may change their ingredients and processes at any time). Any questions/concerns I am available at lnicholl@hazlet.org or 732-787-2332.
