A Message from the Superintendent - 10-22-21

Community Message: October 22, 2021

Good day Hazlet. It is Friday, October 22, and I thank you for logging onto my community message. Yes, as per the Governor, we are still wearing masks though, for the most part, the District is once again sponsoring a diverse slate of activities and events as the school year moves forward. Kids are in their classrooms engaging with their teachers and all eight schools are thriving in real time. The HMS and RHS athletic teams are in full swing, the high school band has won a number of competitions, book fairs are being very-well received, and Halloween celebrations are on-tap for our younger learners.

On the academic front, the Start Strong tests have concluded, and the aggregate scores show that over two-thirds of those tested placed in the upper tiers of evaluation. Come spring, we will once again administer the NJ Student Learning Assessments which will provide a more in-depth look at our students’ educational progress during the pandemic.

The play, Noises Off, will be presented in the RHS auditorium November 18th through the 21st, so please make plans to attend one of those dates and support our talented drama team.

The district is firing on all cylinders as the November break looms and we wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween next week. Thank you.
