Dear School Community,
This announcement is to inform you that the district has had one (1) new case of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) since Friday 5/7/2021.
- Raritan High School reported one (1) new case. The individual has had no recent contact with the school. No further action is necessary.
PLEASE NOTE: The CDC and the NJDOH recognize in a school setting that persons who are close contacts of an individual who have tested positive for COVID 19, may be considered for a reduced exclusion period based on Regional Risk Levels. The State of New Jersey, specifically the Hazlet Township Public Schools, is currently in the Yellow or Moderate Risk Area. As such, the quarantine is now reduced to 10 (ten) days for those identified through contact tracing as a close contact exposure or 7 (seven) days with a negative test completed on Day 5, 6, or 7.
This change to our quarantine policy will begin immediately and continue as long as our area of NJ remains in the Moderate or Low Risk Level.
We will continue to monitor and coordinate cases as they evolve. Stakeholders from individual schools where cases occur will be notified within 36 hours; aggregate totals for all eight schools will be posted on the district website on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The District nurses will remain available to answer questions, aid in quarantine issues, and collect valuable data for use at the district, county and state levels. If you have a positive case to report, or any concerns during this virtual period, please contact your school nurse via email.
