What we learn in ESL

For Families
Families play an important role in language development. Here are a few ways to support your child at home:
* Read together for 10-15 minutes each day.
*Ask your child to tell you about their school day.
*Practice new English vocabulary together
*Encourage your child to speak, read and write in English.
*Keep using your home language too- strong skills in the first language can support English learning.
*Visit the library and choose books your child enjoys.
