Room 18 Parents:

Our class “adopted” an African elephant from The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee! Her name is Sukari and I hope you read all about her in the pages that were sent home. We are VERY excited about her! The Elephant Sanctuary is a wonderful place for these amazing, intelligent beings...it is NOT a zoo. Their website is www.elephants.com. They have live web cams (“elecams”)! We can watch Sukari and the other African and Asian elephants on our smart board! The kids are amazed to see all the elephants live! We’ll continue to check in daily and hopefully keep up with our girl, Sukari!

We will be starting a small take-home activity in coordination with our “adoption” of Sukari. I explained it to the kids and they are very excited! More information will go home soon.
