Snack: Please include a healthy snack (yogurt, fruit, pretzels) each day in your child's backpack or lunch box, as well as a water bottle, preferably a reusable water bottle! Please try your best to label the snack for the day "snack" so that students are not confused between their lunch and snack. Thank you!! *SNACKS MUST BE NUT-FREE*

Breakfast: You will receive a breakfast order form each Thursday, which must be filled out for the entire following week and returned on Friday. This is important if you would like your child to receive breakfast. Breakfast menus can be found here. Breakfast is $2.40.

Lunch: Students have the option of bringing their lunch to school, or ordering lunch daily. Please complete the ordering form in your child's folder and leave it their for the entire week. Thank you, in advance, for your help! Lunch is $3.95.

Homework: Homework is an extension of the activities we are learning in class. Each month, students will receive a homework choice board & reading log. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding homework, please contact me. I will be happy to help!

Absences: Parents/ Guardians are responsible for notifying the school on or before the first day of a student's absence. You can notify via email sdeclcattendance@hazlet.org, or Sycamore Drive ECLC has a voicemail system on which you may leave a message between the hours of 4:00p.m. and 8:50 a.m. regarding student absences and tardies. To report an absence call 732- 264-2180, listen to the menu and press 1 for the “Attendance Line and Nurse”. When leaving a message, please state your child’s name, teacher, reason for absence and the possible number of days your child will be absent. For tardy students, please state the time the child will arrive to school. If a child is absent and we have not received a call, school personnel will attempt to call the parent/ guardian. If the parent/ guardian cannot be reached, an attempt will be made to confirm the child’s absence by contacting the emergency numbers you have provided. Please keep phone numbers updated. This procedure is to ensure each child’s safety.

Birthdays: Due to allergies, if you would like to send in a special treat for your child’s birthday, it must be a NON-FOOD item. These items can include pencil toppers, silly bands, erasers, pencils, bubbles, stickers, etc. Nurse Rizzo also has a list of items on her Nurse’s Office website, as well. Thank you for your cooperation with sending in NON-FOOD items as birthday treats!

Dismissal: Students are dismissed as either: a busser, a walker, flex (must be eligible & register) or an after-care(Right at School). Please email me if your child will not be taking the bus home, if someone else will be picking up your child, or if your child will be leaving school early. Please kindly copy our secretary, Mrs. Chionchio, vchionchio@hazlet.org, on the email as well. If it is a last minute change, or after 12:00 PM, please call Mrs. Chionchio directly, (732) 264- 2180, ext. 8001.

Personal Belongings: Please label student belongings (backpack, lunch box, jackets, etc.) clearly with your child's First and Last name, in the event items are ever lost.

Extra Clothing: If possible, please send a change of clothes in a plastic bag or ziploc, labeled with your child's name, in the event that there is a spill at snack or lunch.
