Technology Procedures During Closure

  • If you are experiencing an issue with your home Internet Connection, please reach out to your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

  • We ask prior to reaching out for assistance that you power cycle (turn off the device and turn it back on) your device to see if the issue has been resolved.

  • To allow for troubleshooting of an issue before bringing in a device that may be malfunctioning, please email service@hazlet.org with the following information:

    • Student First and Last Name

    • Grade

    • School

    • A detailed description of the issue.

  • In the case that your device needs to come in for repair, a technician will schedule a time with you so that you may drop off the device at Raritan High School - Door 8 in the Cafeteria.

    • The window for appointments of drop off and pick up of chromebooks are from 10 AM until Noon, Monday and Wednesday at Raritan High School. Again, before coming to the High School an appointment with a technician MUST be made.

  • If your student has an outstanding fine due to loss or damage of a chromebook, that fine will need to be paid prior to receiving a loaner or replacement.  This fine will be collected when the device is dropped off.

  • All Chromebooks will be disinfected before being issued to parents or students.

  • If you have a student in grades P-4 and have filled out the device survey and stated that you do not have a device for learning in the household you may be eligible for a device to use during the closure.

    • These devices will be picked up at your student’s school building.

    • Only students who were not issued a one-to-one or otherwise take home device, will be eligible to borrow a device.

    • If you did not fill out the survey and require a device for learning purposes, please contact your student’s building principal.

    • Parents will need to sign off on the responsibility contract before receiving a device.

    • Please be aware that you will be responsible for any damage or loss of the device or its parts while you are in possession of it.

    • Principals will document the asset tag and name of the family taking the device.

    • Once the school district resumes a local learning, the devices should be returned with the chargers to your building principals within a two week period.
