The district-wide comprehensive curriculum is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. In addition, RVS has just been awarded the Bronze Level certification for NJ Sustainable Schools and Bronze Level certification for Future Ready Schools.  Our Future Ready Team has just submitted for Silver Certification and hopes to hear good news in October.  Check out our RVS Future Ready Video.  RVS has completed it's construction upgrades.  All classrooms have been completely renovated with new lighting, heating and air conditioning, furniture, new ceilings, Fire alarms, security cameras, and a state of the art cafeteria and kitchen.

Raritan Valley School is equipped for 21st century learning with wireless internet capability throughout the school with the appropriate bandwidth for fast internet browsing and streaming video. Our teachers are well trained in the use of Google and the educational apps that we are committed to using every day to enhance learning and academic success. Every classroom has a document camera and a smartboard with webcam. We offer our students the opportunity of distance learning through video networking in all of our classrooms. The school is equipped with four carts stocked with iPads and seven newly stocked carts with Chromebooks that are compatible with the NJSLA assessments. We are proud to continue to utilize our Media Center and its computer station, new leveled reading books, and built-in presentation projector. This upcoming year, RVS will have a new Enrichment/Makerspace Lab for all students to participate in.

During the school year, Raritan Valley School has a variety of activities that are offered to our students and parents that enrich the education process. Those that have taken place this past year are First Grade Orientation for all new incoming grade one students, Back to School Night which gives an opportunity to all parents to meet our staff, Week of Respect and Anti School Violence Awareness Week, and Transitioning Day, which allows the students to meet their next year teachers before summer recess begins. Our fourth graders compete in an annual spelling bee that begins in our school and ultimately may give them the opportunity to compete at a national level. All of our students are challenged to increase their independent reading time by completing their weekly required reading time logs and are awarded monthly for accomplishing this goal.

At Raritan Valley School, our devoted teaching staff is committed as educators to implement our new Personalized Learning and Future Ready district initiatives.  We will focuses on data driven instruction, small group instruction, technology tools and student set learning goals in order to achieve student success for all.  Part of our staffs everyday culture is the commitment to becoming lifelong learners through our very own Professional Development Academy.
