Letter from the Principal

Dear Beers Street Families,

Students and staff are encouraged to wear red on Wednesday, October 26th, for Red Ribbon Week.

The Halloween Dance is Friday, October 28th, from 3:00 - 4:30 PM. Students are encouraged to wear black and orange. Permission slips were sent home. Please return permission slips by Tuesday, October 25th.

Homerooms are competing in our Silly String-O-Ween fundraiser. The money raised will go towards field day activities. The homeroom that raises the most money gets to spray the principal with silly string at the Halloween Dance on October 28th! Students may submit cash or check (checks made out to Beers Street PTO) to their homeroom teacher or donate via Venmo @beersstreetpto. Please include your child's name, teacher, and Attention: Silly String-O-Ween. Thank you for your support!

On Monday, October 31st, students may wear their Halloween costumes to school. However, please, no costume masks or weapons. Please do not bring snacks or treats to school.

Please see Superintendent Dr. Ridley’s important message regarding Family ID. Each year parents must re-register for their Family ID account. If you registered in the previous year, re-registering is a quick process. Please take a moment to update your Family ID account. Here are some helpful links to assist you with this process:

Language arts tutoring is offered on Tuesdays, and math tutoring on Thursdays. Tutoring sessions go from 2:50 - 3:45 PM. There is no bus for tutoring. Therefore parents should make transportation arrangements. Teachers will recommend students for tutoring. If you would like your child to attend tutoring, please complete this form and return it to your child's homeroom teacher.

Online homework help is offered Monday through Thursday from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Students can ask questions, go over homework, or review a concept they may not fully understand. Students must join the Online Homework Help Google Classroom to attend. The code to join is xxw37fp.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Ian Collis

Principal
