Implementation:
Workshops count hour for hour as long as they are consistent with staff member’s PDP, teaching assignment and State standards.
2. Formal Courses
As offered by accredited colleges, universities or other providers (both on and off site courses)
On-line studies as offered by approved providers
Implementation:
Formal courses count hour for hour, providing they are consistent with staff member’s PDP.
(One hour of college credit equals 15 hours of professional development)
3. Articulation with Peers
Implementation:
Time as determined by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Testing
Prior approval is needed

4. Mentoring*
Field experience
Student teachers / junior practicum

Implementation:

6. Grant Writing

Time as determined by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Testing
7. Serving on Professional Boards or Committees*

Limit 10 hrs / yr
8. Teaching a Course / Workshop for the Hazlet Staff and/or Hazlet Families
Implementation:
Survey of course / workshop
(presenters or teachers of courses or workshops shall accrue PD hours on the basis of two hours of preparation time for every hour of delivery time)
9. Independent Projects / Professional Study Groups
