As the principal of Raritan High School, I want to take an opportunity to share my journey that has led me to the Hazlet Township schools. I have over 20 years of Pre-K through 12th grade education experience as a district affirmative action officer, principal, vice-principal, dean of students, special education teacher, track & field and soccer coach. As an athletic coach, I have successfully developed high-performing, top-ranked teams and student athletes and was recognized as a North Jersey Coach of the Year. I completed my doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in higher education in May of 2018 at Rowan University. I have a bachelor's degree from William Paterson University and a master's degree in the arts with a specialization in educational administration and supervision from New Jersey City University.

Prior to working in the Hazlet Township Public Schools I worked for the Archdiocese of Washington as the principal of St. Martin of Tours, a Pre-K through 8th grade private school in Gaithersburg, Maryland. During my tenure as principal, I worked collaboratively with teachers to implement programs that focus on a student-centered environment designed to reach all learners. These programs paid off when we had elevated the school’s academic performance to meet National Blue Ribbon eligibility in all testing grades.

Prior to my move to Maryland, I began my career in education with the Clifton Public Schools, where I was a high school resource room teacher. In the Clifton School System, I served as track & field and soccer coach, special education teacher, vice-principal, and principal. During the thirteen year time period as a coach I had the amazing opportunity to celebrate state championships as either an assistant or head coach. As an assistant coach with the boys’ soccer team, we won the 2007 NJSIAA Group IV State Championship and made it to the Group IV state championship two years in a row. As the girls’ head track coach, I guided the girls to its first North I Group IV state championship in 2008 and its first school state champion in the pole vault. In the same year, I was honored as I was selected as the Star Ledger North Jersey Coach of the year.

In my educational career I have had the pleasure to work with so many amazing students, parents, teachers, coaches, and administrators who have been driven to succeed. I believe in life you have to set goals and I want to challenge every RHS student to set short and long-term goals so you can take advantage of all that high school has to offer you. RHS is committed to offering a dynamic engaging learning environment and we want you to engage yourself in joining a club, sports team, or our growing marching band. If you are having a hard time finding a way to be involved please reach out to your school counselor, they can assist you. In life, goals will help you reach what you may believe is impossible and always remember nothing is impossible. “The Sky is the Limit”.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andrew R. Piotrowski
